About these stones
Natural Turquoise Oval Shape Calibrated Cabochon Available in 5x3MM-14x10MM
Turquoise’s roots stretch back to Ancient Egypt. It was named pierre tourques or Turkish stone for the traders who brought it to Europe. This December birthstone also marks the 6th wedding anniversary. It is thought to bestow hope, success, protection, and courage. We now carry Bluebird turquoise, a fine quality featuring an intense robin’s egg blue with no visible matrix, and Kingman turquoise, a prime example of classic turquoise with sand-colored veining.
Birthstone: December · Anniversary: 6, 11
How we grade
A: lighter colour, visible inclusions. Good for fashion pieces and practice settings.
AA: even colour, some inclusions you can see up close. Everyday jewelry.
AAA: rich colour, eye clean. Fine jewelry.
AAAA: the top colour we cut, eye clean. Statement and heirloom pieces.
Market Basics or Precision
Market Basics: good outlines; sizes and depths vary a little stone to stone. Best value for settings you adjust by hand.
Precision: even outlines and matched depths. Drops into pre-notched castings and lines up in rows and halos.
